The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Track & Field team competed at the 114th Drake Relays, breaking a record in one of the relays.
The Tigers were in Des Moines Thursday through Saturday racing hard, despite the weather. After a thunderstorm delay on Saturday, ADM stayed engaged as they ran the 4×400 meter relay towards the end of the meet as they broke a school record running under four minutes. The Tigers finished in eighth place overall with a time of 3:58.22, which is a new school record. The relay consisted of Junior Aniston Tollari, Junior Madi James, Sophomore Brecken Morse, and Junior Hannah Desmarais. According to ADM, the group pr’d by 13 seconds last year as they ran a 4:11 in 2023.
In addition, the girls 4×100 shuttle hurdle relay accomplished a school record of 1:04.86 as they raced into second place in all classes. That team featured Sophomore Haley Nelson, Freshman Isabelle Smyth, Junior Josi Dufoe, and Sophomore Elise Coghlan. ADM’s 4×200 finished 20th (1:45.81), and the 4×100 team was 12th overall, running a 49.69.
Next up for the Tigers is the Raccoon River Conference Meet on Wednesday at Carlisle High School, beginning at 4pm.
