This is the last week of regular season track & field for the Greene County Rams with a meet tonight, another on Thursday, then a Class 2A State Qualifying Meet on May 9 in Manson.

The Rams send their girls and boys to Alleman today/tonight for a meet hosted by North Polk. Derek Merk is the head coach of the girls and Chad Morton leads the program for boys. The girls did not qualify any events for last weekend’s Drake Relays, but the boys had the 4 x 100 meter relay finish in 74th place in a field of 96 quartets after they qualified 95th.

This Thursday is the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference Coed Meet hosted by South Hamilton in Jewel at 4 p.m. The Greene County coaches groom their athletes to peak late in the season starting with the conference meet, and continuing into the postseason.
