Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is bringing back a fun event for the Guthrie County Fair in regards to 4-H.
Extension Youth Coordinator Rachel Blum says that for the 2025 Guthrie County Fair, 4-H Royalty will be making a comeback. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why the event is making a return.
“Kiersten (Knobbe) reached out to us, and she was our summer assistant last year, and she kind of has a passion for the 4-H royalty. And so she wanted to bring it back and try to promote it more and get more youth involved in this.”
Blum mentions that 4-H Royalty includes a King, Queen, Prince and Princess. She adds that King and Queen candidates are chosen from senior members of the County 4-H program, while junior and intermediate members are chosen for Prince and Princess.
