Monday night both Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls soccer teams played against the Norwalk Warriors, with the boys on the road and the girls home. Both teams needed extra time to get to their final result and it was a split effort, with the boys winning 1-0 and the girls falling 1-0.The boys move to double digit wins with a 10-3 record. The girls fall to 6-3 on the year.

The boys were able to pick up a hard fought victory on the road against a rival they’ve had quite a series with the last few years. Nathan Scholl was able to pick up the goal for the Mustangs. The win was the fourth in the last six matchups between the two teams for the Mustangs. DCG was also able to stay undefeated in conference play.

The girls went the distance for the second consecutive game but unfortunately couldn’t get the win picking up their first conference loss in the process. DCG was able to put up 15 shots on goal, but couldn’t find the back of the net for the second straight game.

Boys soccer will have their next game on Thursday against Dowling Catholic, while the girls will have their next game on Friday against Bondurant-Farrar.
