Paton-Churdan hasn’t had a lot track and field success in recent seasons, but freshman Trevon Keely gave fans something to cheer about at the Rolling Valley Activities Conference meet on Monday night in Woodbine. Keely won the high jump with a personal best jump of six feet-four inches, was second in the long jump at 19′ 0″, placed fifth in the 400 meter dash at 56.19 seconds, and finished in sixth place in the 100 meter dash in :12.31. He scored 21 of the Rockets’ 22 points. According to the statistical website Bound Iowa, Keely’s 6′ 4″ clearance is the third best by a Class 1A high jumper in Iowa this season through April 29.

The P-C girls scored seven points with six of them from freshman Alyvia Smith in the discus throw. She was third with a distance of 99′ 1″.
