The Perry Chamber held its annual dinner on Tuesday to reflect on 2023 year, honoring business members, while looking ahead to the rest of 2024.

The dinner was held at La Poste in Perry with a delicious meal catered by the Hotel Pattee. Many businesses were in attendance as Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti thanked the audience for the great turnout. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Shawn Kenney, who also serves as a chamber member, spoke about the resiliency of the community following the January 4th shooting at Perry High School and the announcement of the Tyson Foods Pork Plant closing at the end of June.

Chamber President Kelly Mills echoed the remarks of Kenney in how these instances are example of how strong Perry is. Also, Chamber Board Member Cherie Welch expressed some kind words and presented the three awards of the night. First of all, Andrea Brownlee was awarded the Ambassador of the Year. The Jack Finneseth Volunteer of the Year award was given to Matt McDevitt and the Spirit of Perry Business of the Year went to the Dallas County Hospital. Pasutti concluded by explaining that all of the area businesses work together to help Perry thrive.
