An upcoming event is happening on Saturday with Dallas County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

The Dallas County Master Gardeners will be having its fourth annual plant sale on Saturday from 9am-2pm at the Dallas County Fairgrounds Community Building, 28061 Fairground Drive, in Adel. The sale includes perennials, vegetables, house plants, succulents, and more. 

Extension Horticulture and  Conservation Program Educator Megan Will expects to have more perennials this year due to the warmer spring weather. She reveals that tomatoes and peppers are a big seller each year.

“We all start the tomatoes and peppers ourselves, and when you do that you can start varieties that you can’t generally get even in the gardening centers.”

Will adds that the sale will also feature bouquets of fresh flowers and rain barrels. The event is open to the public with a free will donation available benefiting the Master Gardeners Demonstration Garden.
