With summer fast approaching, there are many programs that Stuart Police Department Community Programs (SPDCP) are getting ready for.

Stuart Police Sergeant Katie Guisinger says that there are several programs coming up, including a bike rodeo, Books and Badges and the Summer Youth Programs. With so much in store, there are times where extra help is welcomed with open arms. Guisinger mentions that having chaperones and volunteers for some of the programs is a big help, especially when they visit locations outside of town, like Springbrook State Park, Blank Park Zoo or an Iowa Cubs game.

Another way to help is donations, as SPDCP is a 501.(c)3 and relies on donations for the many community building programs they do. Guisinger mentions that the group does now have a Venmo that donations can be sent to, along with a 24 hour dropbox to the left of the police department entrance, and that donations can also be mailed in. The Venmo for SPDCP and the mailing address for the department can be found in this story online, for those interested in making donations. For those interested in volunteering, Guisinger can be contacted by email, at kguisinger@stuart911.com.
