
A construction update was provided Tuesday about the new administration building for the Dallas County Board of Supervisors.
Turner Construction shared that interior painting has begun and brick has been layered on the east side of the exterior of the building. Also, the northwest parking lot was completed on Monday and is set to open for public parking on May 20th. A pay application was then approved by the Board in the amount that was over $2.9 million.
Other items on the agenda that were approved include a right of way purchase agreement with Secondary Roads for $823.60 with Scott R. Tomer, a resolution for a joint agreement between the City of Grimes and City of Urbandale as Secondary Roads will allocate equitable division to both cities. Additional items that were approved were renaming portions of 150th Street to Court and Lane, a Sheriff’s vehicle purchase for a 2019 Durango, and a resolution of a weed notice as presented.
Engineering firm Bolton & Menk, out of Jefferson, suggested sharing their Watchman Services with Dallas County to shift the burden of drainage work. The item was tabled until next week. The Heart of Iowa Community Services 28E agreement was also tabled until next week after extensive discussion.
