The public is invited to see a musical performed by the secondary students with the Paton-Churdan School District. 

Director Shannon Hobbs says the musical “Out of the Woods” by Stephen Murray is about a group of campers who are lost in the woods and don’t have cell phones. The campers meet some interesting creatures on their way to find home again. She says the production is entertaining for everyone.

“It’s a production that anyone will enjoy. It’s great for young kids, older kids, it’s just a fun show. And with it only being about an hour long, I think it’s really acceptable to anyone.”  

Hobbs points out there are 18 students in 7th through 12th grades that are in the cast and one of the biggest challenges has been getting everyone on stage at the same time.

“I am so, so proud of these kids. So we have a wide range of ages. Many of these students are not actually in choir, so for them to come and sing, and do this kind of production is just really impressive. I’m really proud of them for putting in the work. They have been coming to me with lots of really good ideas of ways that we can make this production even better.”    

The performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7pm at the P-C auditorium. Tickets are $5 each and the doors open at 6:30pm.
