An Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center student was recently given some recognition at the state level.

Elizabeth Baughman was named to the All-State Art Team by the Art Educators of Iowa. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what drew her to the world of art.

“(It) mainly was, when I was younger, I just loved to draw. It was just one of my favorite hobbies, and as I started to grow up, I noticed that I was pretty good at drawing. And so being able to hone that skill was just really fun and something that I enjoyed.”

Baughman mentions that she prefers to work with realism, and create pieces featuring animals, people and nature. She adds that for those interested in art, but who aren’t sure what to do, that art is an easy hobby to get into, and that the more you practice the better you will become at it.
