The City of Adel celebrated a new beautiful mural downtown as a ribbon cutting was held on Wednesday.
The Adel Partners Chamber hosted the ribbon cutting where the mural is located, which is on the west side of the Fiesta Building, 109 Nile Kinnick Drive. Rebecca Hillmer, Chair of the Arts and Trails Committee, thanked the crowd who showed up to the midday ribbon cutting and described how the chamber worked with the company, Vaezr Studios out of Des Moines, to bring the idea of the mural to the community. Vaezr Studio’s Senior XR Engineer Luke McDermott demonstrates how the mural connects to phones.
“So it’ll be on your phone, but it is anchored to the wall, so you’ll be able to see some of these pictures pop up a bit larger. You’ll see some fireworks popping off, and you’ll be able to upload your own image there, and you’ll have yourself be in the center of this mural.”
McDermott notes that Vaezr collaborated with Lashier Graphics & Signs to bring a smaller design to the state fair last year and the Adel Partners Chamber thought it would be a cool idea to replicate a similar design in Dallas County.
