The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball team came out victorious in Van Meter on Wednesday for their first win of the 2024 season.

The Tigers defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 6-1 as the game suffered a short rain delay in the bottom of the sixth inning, lasting about 20 minutes. The game would resume, but ended in six innings. Scoring for ADM was Senior Rhylan Stine-Smith with two, Junior Ethan Uglum tallied two as he was a courtesy runner for Senior Grant Rychnovsky. Also, Junior Grant Jansen added a run, along with Junior Jaxon Book. Scoring the lone run for Van Meter was Junior Cole Moore.

Rychnovsky was the winning pitcher tonight for the Tigers, going six innings allowing four hits, one run, two walks, and had eight strikeouts. Van Meter began the game with Moore who pitched for four innings, allowed two hits, two runs, walked two batters, and completed 10 strikeouts. Sophomore Luke Steinfeldt was the second reliever pitching for two innings, giving up four runs, two walks, while getting three strikeouts. Freshman Daniel Wiebelhaus played one inning with one strikeout.

ADM improves to 1-2 overall while Van Meter drops to 1-1. The Bulldogs are off until Saturday when they travel to Gilbert, while ADM turns around for another game tonight in Saydel, scheduled for 7:30pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will be back to broadcast the first game of the doubleheader Friday as the Tigers host Waukee Northwest, beginning at 5pm on K107.9.
