A local student-driven organization in Jefferson is giving back to the community with a breakfast fundraiser tomorrow.

The Greene County FFA Chapter will be cooking and serving pancakes, eggs and sausages at their pancake breakfast tomorrow from 7-8:30am at Ram Restaurant. FFA Member Elise Badger shares why they are doing this kind of a fundraiser for the community.

“Well we thought it was a good idea to serve our community with this breakfast. It uses what we’ve learned in the classroom over the past few months, last month being National Egg Month. And it is a way for the community to get involved in the FFA Chapter and help out, and kind of talk to us and see what’s happening, and getting our members involved and get them talking to the community about different things too.”

Badger notes that the meal is a free will donation with proceeds being used primarily to send members to the national and state conventions, along with providing more opportunities for more students to join the organization and get real world experiences with FFA. Additionally, the FFA Plant Sale has been extended to tomorrow being the final day from 7-8:30am and 3:30-6pm at the high school.
