Perry softball has been practicing for the last few weeks.  All the off-season workouts and practices lead to the first contest on Monday.  The Jayettes open the season in Nevada.  KDLS will be broadcasting the contest.  Perry is coming off a 9-14 season.  They finished 7-7 in conference which was tied for 4th.

Maci Tunick returns in the circle to anchor the pitching staff.  In her junior year, she started all 23 games and had a record of 9-14.  Tunick finished last year with 69 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.43.  Lydia Olejniczak will be missed from the lineup, current Drake Bulldog just wrapped up her freshman season.  The offense still returns some firepower.  Emmalee Bell returns at first base.  Bell had a team high batting average .350 and RBI’s 19.

The Jayettes will play their first home game on Wednesday, May 22nd against Roland-Story.
