When Greene County and Humboldt play Class 2A high school boys’ soccer in Humboldt on Monday the game will not be at the high school. It’s a Class 2A Substate 7 semifinal to be held at the Humboldt Soccer Complex. Greene County Activities Director Dave Wright told Raccoon Vallley Radio the contest is set for a 6 p.m. start because the facility has no lights, and he added start time could be moved up even more if there is a threat of bad weather. Fans driving to Humboldt on Highway 169 should go north to seventh street, then turn right and travel east to the facility. There are small sets of bleachers and there is a press box, but it is located near one of the two soccer fields there, but not the field the Rams and Wildcats will play on.

The Wildcats have just one loss this season and the Rams have lost only twice. The three combined losses by the two teams have all been by one run. Monday’s winner plays Perry or Grinnell on Wednesday, May 22 for the Substate 7 title.
