The two school districts in Greene County will be having their respective high school graduations this weekend.
Paton-Churdan has its commencement ceremony this afternoon at 2pm in the P-C gym. Eleven seniors will receive their diplomas in the final year of Superintendent Kreg Lensch’s career. Their names can be found below.
Additionally, Greene County High School will have its graduation ceremony tomorrow. Guidance counselor Allison Wenck says about 94 seniors will receive their diplomas, with the ceremony to begin at 2pm at Linduska Field. Nathan Behne is this year’s valedictorian and has this message for his fellow graduates.
“First just congrats to everyone cause it wasn’t always easy there were some tough things that happened. Just keep going and preserve, take the skills that we learned from high school and use them in the real world, don’t just forget it now that we’re done.”
The guest speaker at the graduation will be Tim Bardole. He farms near the Rippey area and currently serves with the Iowa Soybean Association as the district at-large representative. Anyone who can’t make it to the program in person can click the link below and watch the livestream of the proceedings.
