Greene County has 10 seniors on its boys’ soccer team, and many have played together since their Youth soccer days. Carl Behne and Chad Black have been the only coaches some of them have known. Their distinguished high school soccer careers came to an end on Monday night with a 2-1 Class 2A Substate 7 Semifinal loss on the road to the Humboldt Wildcats.
This Ram team put together an 11-3 record and the four year varsity record for this group of seniors is 48 wins and 20 losses. Included are two State Tournament appearances, in Class 1A in 2021, and in 2A last season. The Rams have played six seasons of soccer (No season was held in 2020 due to the Pandemic) and winning seasons have been recorded every year. Three of the six seasons the Rams have qualified for State Tournaments.
Senior Rams are Cody Allen, Kolby Angell, Nathan Behne, Zeke Binkley, Landon Carstens, Gabe Ebersole, Manuel Flores, Gesser Gutierres, Jack Hansen, and Brynley Ruzicka.
