A Jefferson man was arrested following an alleged assault incident.
According to court documents, a Jefferson Police Officer responded to a call of an assault at 4:40am on Saturday, May 18th to the residence in the 400 block of East Perry Street. The victim told the officer that the suspect, 46-year-old Dale Ganoe, came over to the victim’s house and forced his way into the bedroom and struck her in the head. Another witness tried to stop Ganoe and claimed Ganoe threatened to kill the witness and so the witness grabbed a baseball bat and struck Ganoe in the head because the witness was afraid.
Ganoe had left the scene before the officer arrived at the home. Court documents show the officer and a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy eventually got Ganoe out of another resident’s home where Ganoe kept changing his story while he was being interviewed and refused medical attention for his head wound.
Court documents show that the officer arrested Ganoe and charged him with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse assault and was taken to Greene County Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
