The Perry Bluejays Boys Soccer team finished atop of the Heart of Iowa Conference and punched their ticket back to the state tournament, starting this week.
The Bluejays finished 2-0 in the HOI Conference this year as they tallied 11 wins on the season (11-5 overall). The Bluejays got wins this season versus PCM, North Polk, Albia, Winterset, Greene County, and more. After earning the number one seed for Class 2A Region 7, the Bluejays beat Grinnell 6-2 in the Semifinal and Humboldt 4-1 in the Championship to be named the Class 2A-7 Champs.
Perry will now be playing in Des Moines for the state tournament, beginning Wednesday against Decorah at the James W. Crownie Soccer Park on field #7. Kick off is set for 1:20pm and Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the game on KDLS.
