Anyone who visits the newly renovated Imagination Alley, as the west alleyway in downtown Jefferson, will also see two larger than life-sized sculptures.

The Jefferson Garden Club donated two metal butterfly sculptures. The non-profit organization, whose mission is to beautify the community, made a $2,000 donation to Cumming, Iowa artist, Hilde DeBruyne. She has entered the Ring Out for Art contest with a sculpture previously in Jefferson.

The Garden Club selected the colors yellow and purple to coordinate with the colors of the fairytale mural on the north wall of Art on the Fly. The donation for the sculptures came from the Jefferson Garden Club’s Holiday Tour of Homes fundraiser that happens every other year. This is where community members can visit four holiday decorated houses for a small fee. This year, the event is happening on December 7th. The proceeds from this fundraiser are also used to maintain the Memorial Garden near the Milwaukee Depot on East Lincoln Way, along with the garden panels that were installed several years ago.
