Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson discusses how the recent rains are affecting the work being done in the community.
Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Stormwater projects are weather dependent, but also how the wetter conditions are stalling progress at the Perry Municipal Airport. Peterson comments on the rain bringing out the debris from residential yards blocking up drains, and reminds people to do their best to help keep things clean.
“We really would ask our residents that if you have a storm intake right in front of your house or near your house, it is just a huge help to us and really everybody in the neighborhood when it rains if those homeowners can help us by clearing out those storm intake grates and making sure that water can flow in there.”
Peterson mentions that the city will go around to clean the waste, but is beneficial when the community works together to do their part. He says the last couple of years, Iowa has had great construction season weather with the drought.
