
Perry High School celebrated graduation on Saturday after an emotional year losing longtime Principal Dan Marburger.
Marbuger, along with sixth grader Ahmir Jolliff passed away from wounds suffered during the January 4th shooting. According to Superintendent Clark Wicks, Marburger began his principal duties in 1997. Wicks, newly-named Principal Brad Snowgren, Perry Senior Class President Kaitlyn Leber and Bluejay Congress President Callie Steva all reminisced, speaking highly about the beloved principal during the ceremony.
The high school put a blue jacket on a chair with flowers in front of the podium on stage. Wicks commented that graduation was one of Marburger’s favorite events at the school. The graduating class consisted of 137 Perry students.
