
Greene County High School girls’ soccer head coach Maribel Hernandez has released team honors and awards for the 2024 season. The Rams were not able to get in the win column and scored only four goals, three of those in the final contest of the season.
Seniors Graci Cookin and Ester Van Horn were named to the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference All–Conference list as Honorable Mention performers. Fourteen Rams were on the HOIAC Academic All-Conference honor roll. That list includes Cooklin, fellow seniors Adison Gallagher, Payton Grow, Olivia Hoyt, Ava Schilling, Daniel Strawn, and Van Horn. Juniors on the list are Ava Jablonski, Randa Linberg, Sadie Shannon, Ella Shipley, Jocelyn Velazco, and Paton-Churdan’s Grace Cullum.
Van Horn was named team MVP and goal keeper Lucy Vander Linden received the Leadership Award. Velazco received the Most Promising Player Award and Lindberg was named Most Improved Player. Shannon was recognized for Highly Improved Defense, Hoyt for Love of the Game, Leah McCormick the Communicator Award, Schilling the Energetic Player Award, Grow the Effort Award, Sarah Hengst the Newcomer of the Year, Jablonski the Nutmeg Award, Sofie Johansen the Midfield Command Award, Emma Shipley the Toughtest Defender Award, Cullum Highly Improved Midfield, Autumn Barrett Highly Improved Forward, Natalie Towers High Potential Defense, London Harris High Potential Midfield, Gallagher High Potential Forward, and Best Teammate Award to Adia Coulibaly.
