The AC/GC Chargers were in doubleheader action last night, as they fell to the Durant Wildcats 4-2 in game one, and 10-8 in game two.

The Chargers allowed two runs in the first inning, and another two in the second, while scoring one run of their own, and trailing 4-1 going into the third. Both teams were scoreless in the third inning, while AC/GC picked up another run in the fourth. Neither team was able to score the rest of the game, ending with the Chargers’s 4-2 loss. Sophomore Blaize Dorsey manned the mound for the entire game, finishing with an ERA of 4.00 and three strikeouts.

In game two, the Wildcats were able to start with the lead in the first inning once again, picking up two runs, while the Chargers were unable to record any runs. AC/GC tied things up in the second inning though, and then took the 3-2 lead after the third. Both teams scored big in the fourth inning, with the Wildcats picking up six runs while the Chargers nabbed 5, and both were tied 8-8 going into the fifth inning. Neither team scored again, until Durant recorded two runs in the top of the seventh inning, and AC/GC was unable to tally any runs, finishing the game with the 10-8 loss.

Both Chargers teams are back in action tonight, as they head to Van Meter for varsity doubleheader action. The AC/GC softball team takes on the number one team in Class 2A, with the late game to begin at 7pm, and pregame coverage by the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network to begin at 6:30pm on the KKRF2 online live stream.
