
The AC/GC Chargers fell in both games of their doubleheaders against the Van Meter Bulldogs.
The softball team fell 16-0 in their first game, while the baseball team fell 12-2. In game two, the softball team fell 15-3 while the baseball team fell 12-0. The Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network was on site to broadcast the second softball game on the KKRF2 online live stream. In the first inning, the Chargers jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the inning, but the Bulldogs tacked on five runs of their own before heading into the second. AC/GC was held scoreless in the second inning, while Van Meter secured another eight runs, and in the third inning the Chargers put up another run while the Bulldogs put up two more, enacting the mercy rule and ending the game early
Jayla Hoover recorded the two RBI single in the first inning, bringing home Reagan Carney and Emerson Van Meter, while Van Meter picked up the RBI single in the third, allowing Mersadez Richter to make it around the bases. Richter also had the only double on the night for the Chargers, while all other base hits were singles. Hoover started the game on the mound for the Chargers, swapping out with Camdyn Richter part way through the second, and moving to second base while Becca Littler moved from second to third base to fill Camdyn’s previous spot.
The softball team is now 8-10 on the season, with the baseball team moving to 0-19. The softball team competes on the road again tonight, as they travel to Woodward to take on the Woodward-Granger Hawks for the second time this season.
