A regional theater organization in Jefferson is having its final weekend of performances as it continues to bring entertainment to the downtown area.

History Boy Theatre Company is hosting its final three shows of “Ernest Shackleton Loves Me” written by Val Vigoda. Owner Robby Pedersen plays Ernest Shackleton who led an expedition to Antarctica in the early 1900s and survived several days with the full 28 person crew after their boat was torn to pieces in the frozen ocean. The other role is Kat, who is played by Maggie Stagner from Altoona, and she is a modern day music composer who is struggling to write her next song. The two meet in a cosmic kind of way and fall for each other.

Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich encourages anyone who hasn’t seen this production to get to History Boy this weekend.

“Such a unique opportunity right here in Jefferson and Greene County. This is a thing that brings people to town and so does the furniture shop in the front. People come from all over to be a part of both of these entities. So I really hope that folks understand the value of having Robby and RVP~1875 and History Boy here, and also just show up and support these things.”

A meal of pizza, salad and cheesecake will be served before the shows, with tonight and tomorrow night at 6pm for the meal and 7pm for the performance, and 1pm for the meal and 2pm matinee on Sunday. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased online by clicking here
