It is the heart of the camping season and there’s one amenity that continues to be in high demand at Spring Lake Park in Greene County.
Greene County Conservation Director Tanner Scheuermann says the two cabins that were originally built in 2013 have been so popular, most of the weekends are reserved every year before the start of May. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio later this year the conservation board is going to do a five year strategic planning process where capital improvements such as adding more cabins to Spring Lake Park will be part of that program.
“That is definitely something you know a couple of (Greene County Board of) Supervisors have asked too, ‘Hey when are you guys going to build more cabins? They’re super popular.’ We’ve talked about it, we have room at Spring Lake for more. There’s a couple other parks where down the road, probably not in the near future but down the road, I could definitely see them being very popular a couple of other parks too.”
