A group under the Perry Chamber of Commerce recently held its first meeting, and Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti shapes the future of the organization.

The Young Professionals of Perry met for the first time Thursday at the Courtyard Cafe inside the Hotel Pattee, which is a group that’s been revitalized after about 10 years according to Pasutti. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the organization gives younger people in the community an opportunity to network with each other. Pasutti shares that the first gathering had a good turnout, and says it’s up to the group on the decision for the next meeting.

“It kind of depends on if the group wants to continue to meet regularly, I know that they are planning on getting a float together for the July 4th Parade.”

Pasutti is hoping that this event will kickstart the community to connect more younger people in Perry, and encourages residents to contact the Des Moines Area Community College VanKirk Center for any questions at (515)-428-8100.
