The West Central Valley Wildcat baseball and softball team traveled to Urbandale last night to take on the Des Moines Christian Lions resulting in both Wildcat teams falling short to the Lions. Both Wildcat teams fought valiantly, but the Wildcat baseball came up short to the Lions 11-5 while the Wildcat girls were defeated 13-5.

The seventh inning would be the deciding factor in last night’s baseball contest, as the Wildcats had a 4-2 lead going into the seventh after scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. The Lions would not be detained however, as they notched in 9 runs in the seventh to claim a victory over the Wildcats 11-5.

In softball action, West Central Valley would not be able to contain Des Moines Christians’ line up as the Lions came out of the gates hot, scoring 4 runs in the first and in the seventh, while scoring in every inning besides the fifth resulting in a 13-5 victory in favor of the Lions.

The Wildcat baseball team falls to 6-15 as they prepare to travel to Perry today. Play by play coverage will be live on KDLS beginning at 7PM.
