1500x500-2

On a night when Little Leaguers and a longtime athletic director for Perry were honored before first pitch, the Bluejays kept the good times rolling right from the start.

Owen Myers started this game for Perry and West Central Valley got a couple of runners on with a base hit and a hit by pitch. This would remain the case throughout the game but Myers held strong and didn’t allow a run and struck out the last batter to end the inning.

Perry wouldn’t really get the offense going until the second inning when both Kaelen Davis and Mason Hayes walked to set up Juan Deigo Beato-Amparo. He struck out and now with two down in the inning up came Reid Iben. He looked at a fastball but then on the next pitch lined one into left field for a two-run two-out single.

Owen Myers proceeded to escape traffic once more to shut down the inning. The Bluejays would score again in the bottom of the third all started by a Drake Levan double into left field. Owen Myers was up next and he rockets one into left for another double trading places with Levan. It was now a 4-0 Bluejay lead.

A clutch pickoff by Myers and good defense in the fourth shut down any hope of the Wildcats answering. The Bluejays would add one more in the fifth as it was Levan again getting on to start an inning. He walked and stole a base setting the table for catcher Kain Killmer. He takes an outside pitch oppo into right field for a double which plates Levan. 5-0 would be the final score.

Myers goes the full seven inning allowing nine hits but no runs as the Bluejays get back in the win column ending the week on a high note.

Perry travels to West Marshal to take on the Trojans on Monday night at 7:30 pm for a big conference matchup.
