A reminder that a debut event with a local church will be happening in the City of Perry tomorrow.

The St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Perry is having the “St. Pat’s Summer Fest” tomorrow at the south green lot across the church. St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Business Manager Mike Wilson outlines that the idea to start this came from the unfortunate occurrences with the January 4th shooting at Perry High School, along with the Tyson Foods Pork Plant in Perry closing down operations this coming Friday.

The Summer Fest will feature many kids activities, live music, a potluck, hog roast, and more. Participants are invited to bring their favorite dish as well as lawn chairs and drinks, but the church stresses no alcoholic beverages. The free program begins at noon with the church working with the Knights of Columbus, the Regina Guild, and the Hispanic community to organize the event.
