A reminder for tomorrow that a non-profit organization is hosting a special free event to cap off being in existence for a decade.
The Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a concert and other activities. Board President Danielle Ross says the event starts at 1pm with a variety of activities, including several guest speakers to commemorate the anniversary in the gazebo of the gardens, there will also be a video presentation inside the Welcome Center and guided tours are also taking place, both happening from 1-4pm. Ross notes there is also going to be a variety of things for everyone to do from 1-4pm.
“There’s going to be a lot of family activities. We’ll have a scavenger hunt with some prizes. There will be side(walk) chalk art outside our fence, we’ll have some games provided by Legacy Events, some yard games that you’re free to come up (and) have fun. We’re going to be passing out sugar cookies made by The Centennial.”
Ross points out from 2-4pm is going to be a free concert of the “J-Town Band” which is a bunch of local individuals who came together to create the ensemble. The members include Jim Gulliman, Steve Bosshart, Marcia Roeder, Tony Kendall and Jim McDonald. Additionally, there will be commemorative shirts for people to purchase.
