Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has a second summer intern.

Tucker Carroll says that he has been part of 4-H for nine years, and has enjoyed his time as a participant in many events at the Guthrie County Fair. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio why he decided to become a summer intern, and what he’s looking forward to.

“I’ve always been fond of working in the Extension Office, and when the opportunity came I took it and ran with it, and decided to come work here. Some things that I’m kind of excited about doing (are) helping with the different summer programs that we’re doing this year, being able to do the behind the scenes of the fair and helping with (the) fair and kind of just having a good time learning along the way.”

Carroll mentions that he’s already helped with a few events with Extension, and is looking forward to doing more. He adds that future events he’ll be assisting in are a workshop at the Jamaica and Menlo Libraries, along with some art classes at the Little Charger Early Learning Center.
