
The AC/GC Chargers are advancing to the next round of the Class 2A Region 3 Substate Bracket.
The Chargers faced the West Central Valley Wildcats Monday night, and came out on top with a walk-off 4-3 victory. AC/GC held West Central Valley off in the first inning, and picked up a run off the RBI single from Emerson Van Meter, bringing Jacie Baker who was courtesy running for Reagan Carney. The Chargers were held scoreless until the seventh inning, with the Wildcats picking up two runs in the sixth inning. Belle Fagan and Becca Littler both picked up an RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning, allowing Mersadez Richter and Baker to round the bases and tie up the game.
Play moved into the eighth inning, where AC/GC held West Central Valley off in the top of the inning, then sent two batters to the plate. Page Van Meter drew the walk, and Caydence Boals came up to get the walk-off triple that allowed Paige to make the trip back to home plate for the win. The Chargers are now 13-12, and will continue the postseason push on Wednesday, as they travel to take on the 37-1 Van Meter Bulldogs.
