Two 2024 Greene County High School graduates took part in Saturday’s Iowa Shrine Bowl All-Star Football Game inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. Nathan Behne was the South squad kicker and Maddie McCarthy was on the Cheer squad.

The North won the game by a final of 49-28 after the South led 21-14 at intermission. Behne made all four of the extra points he attempted and he did not have a field goal try. Behne had a total of five kickoffs with an average of more than 56 yards on the four kicks he kicked deeop. To being the second half the South decided to “pooch” kick in an effort to find an open patch of green and recover the ball, but it was caught in the air by the North after traveling 25 yards.

Behne turned into a tackler in the second when one of his kickoffs was returned into South territory and he forced the returner out of bounds for a tackle.
