dcg-new-2

Dallas Center – Grimes softball will be looking to begin an exciting week of softball today when they compete in the 4A state tournament in Fort Dodge. This 4A quarterfinal will find the two seed Mustangs against the seven seed Carlisle Wildcats. DCG is 32-8 on the season while Carlisle is 34-8.

The Mustangs are making their first appearance since 2022, where they were the state runner up that year. DCG will be looking for a little bit of revenge against Carlisle, who won the first matchup between the two teams earlier this season 3-2.

DCG has been tremendous this season averaging 8.2 runs per game. Both Carlisle and DCG have terrific pitching staffs with the Mustangs having 2.8 runs against and Carlisle having 2.6 runs against. DCG will have to be tough and determined throughout the contest, against a Carlisle team that is traditionally very very strong.

You can listen to the game on the new 943, 997, and AM 1310 KDLS. You can listen online at raccoonvalleyradio.com and the KDLS app. First pitch will be at 2:30 pm from Channel Seeds Field from Fort Dodge. Pregame coverage will begin at 2:15 pm.
