Dallas Center – Grimes softball played in a consolation 4A state game on Tuesday afternoon when they took on Norwalk in Fort Dodge, and the Warriors of Norwalk were able to get the victory winning the contest 3-1. DCG will end with a final record of 32-10 while Norwalk ends the year at 30-8.

DCG was able to get their lone run in the second inning from a RBI double from Amelia Ehlert. Norwalk was able to score one run in the 4th inning and two runs in the 5th inning to grab the victory and tie the season series between the two programs at 2-2.

The game was the final one for the incredible career of coach Steve Schlafke, who managed 49 seasons overall of softball including 22 with Dallas Center – Grimes. DCG will also be saying goodbye to eleven seniors on the roster as well, as they will look to reload for the 2025 season, and look to make it back to the state tournament.
