The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library only has a few events planned for this month.

Director Jerri Hawkins says that their regular programs are still on the calendar, like their card making class and cook book club meeting. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they also have their Friday Story Hour going on as well.

“On August 9th they are going to be doing magic, and they’re going to be making a wizard. On August 16th, its theme is cats, and they will do a ‘C for cat’ craft. August 23rd their theme is dogs, and they’re going to be coloring in Clifford the dog. And then on August 30th, we have no story hour due to the (Guthrie) County Fair.”

Hawkins mentions that they will not be open on August 31st, as the county fair will be ongoing and they want the community to enjoy the fair and not worry about missing out on programs at the library.
