The Perry Parks and Recreation is hosting a two-week fun fest prior to school starting, with the organization seeing good numbers so far.

According to Recreation Coordinator Marco Perla, 11 of the 15 children limit registered for the first day this past Monday. He describes that kids can participate in many activities including swimming, playing games in the gymnasium, and utilizing the different park systems. Perla emphasizes that the idea of the fun fest relates to Perry’s Academic, Cultural, & Enrichment Services (PACES).

“We thought that it would be a good opportunity for us to think of the parents that are working and don’t a babysitter or somewhere to take their kids, so why not just have a little two to three week extension of something like PACES but just on a smaller scale and just more of a camp style.”

The two-week fun fest runs until August 16th and Perla adds that parents that still want to enroll their children in for any of the available spots this week won’t have to pay full price, but for those who want to enroll next week will have to pay the full $75.
