A business within the City of Perry will be shutting down operations on Friday.

The Circle K gas stations are in their final week of providing service to the residents of Perry before permanently closing shop on Friday. Perry Mayor Dirk Cavanaugh tells Raccoon Valley Radio that when he went shopping the other day, he was shocked to see the items at a discount.

“I thought ‘Wow what’s going on?’ (I) saw the sign and so it was like the first time I heard about it, it was a surprise to me, because I shop at the one here on First (Ave) all the time, but they are definitely closing.”

Cavanaugh mentions that he’s planning to meet with Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson sometime this week to gather more information. Perry is home to two Circle K’s with one located on First Avenue (1219 First Ave) and the second one along Highway 141 (1115 IA HWY 141).
