A player from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football team is working on his leadership skills to translate to the field.

Senior Jon Hatchitt is playing Linebacker and Running Back for the Tigers this season. He’s been attending many football camps in order to get himself in shape, plus finding time to get into the weight room. Hatchitt tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he’s all in on being a leader for ADM with his words.

“I’m the middle linebacker and I always have to be vocal making calls and correcting people. Being someone that people can account on is definitely a skill I’ve learned a lot and helped trying to grow.”

Hatchitt says that he is inspired by his older brother that he loves to workout and compete against. He paints a picture of his mental preparation before a game.

“I like to come up on the field and just get a mental look and just think of what would happen during the game. Just plays I would make either scoring touchdowns, making tackles. Just so I can picture it before the game and hopefully help make it happen.”

Hatchitt would love to return to the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls for state, but ultimately just wants to have fun with his teammates.
