
The Greene County School Board met Wednesday night in regular session.
The meeting started with a public hearing on the proposed sale of property to The Children’s Center and there were no public comments. Additionally, under old business the Board approved the second reading of a board policy to include language for issuing bonds. The Board also approved several items with the $5,165,000 general obligation bonds for a solar project. The Board approved UMB Bank as the paying and transfer agent and note registrar, filing a tax exemption and continuing disclosure certificates, and a resolution authorizing the issuance of the bond.
During the superintendent’s report, Iowa Central Community College President Dr. Jesse Ulrich presented a plaque for long-time board member Doug McDermott for his 24 years of service, with the plaque to be displayed in the career academy.
Next, the Board approved three school driving permits, including Ashlynn Ball, Jaxon Hunter and Rylie Mowrer; five fundraising requests as presented, the 2024-25 bus driver and coaches and directors handbooks, and renewing the tele-mental health service agreement with Classroom Clinic for $15,000 for one half day per week. They also re-appointed the Level I Inspector with Brett Abbotts, tabled the 2023-24 Treasurer’s Report due to the representative being absent from the meeting, as well as approving the auditor’s request to move inactive activity funds as presented, and the 2024-25 depositories as presented.
