The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday.

The Council approved the sale of city-owned interest in real estate at 907 Main Street. to Tri-County Cash Lumber Mart, LLC, tax exemptions for two properties, and discussed selling city-owned lots on 100 Grand Street. They also heard updates from Compliance Officer Wes Clark, the Streets Department and City Hall, which were both given by City Clerk Kris Arrasmith.

Arrasmith mentioned in the report from Public Works Superintendent Darin Sloss said that the department had test driven a street sweeper that was for sale from Rutledge Enterprises, and the Council approved purchasing it. She also shared results from the citywide clean up that was held earlier this summer. There were 38 loads of junk hauled to the Guthrie County Transfer Station, and once fees for landfill specialty items had been subtracted, there was roughly $2,400 in proceeds, which were donated to the Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center High School Baseball team. Arrasmith shared that there was still a trailer of scrap iron to be delivered at a later date, and the funds from that will also go to the baseball team.
