Greene County and surrounding residents that are interested in learning more about Dementia prevention can attend the next multi-week program in Jefferson.

Greene County Public Health is hosting a “Unlocking Brain Fitness: Keys to Dementia Prevention” on Tuesdays for ten weeks, starting on September 3rd. Attendees will get connected with local experts and walk through several topics that can be incorporated together for lifestyle changes which will lead to optimal brain health. GCPH Registered Nurse Deb Hoskins says by participating in this program, it can reduce the risk of Dementia up to 70 percent. 

This program is Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30pm in the Greene County Medical Center Education Center. Registration fee is $20 and the program is made possible with Greene County Public Health, Alzheimer’s Association and the YMCA of Greater Des Moines. Contact GCPH at 515-386-3228 to sign up.
