It’s the first day of the school year for the three districts in Guthrie County.

West Central Valley Elementary Principal Amanda Sickles mentions that for this year, she and fellow West Central Valley Elementary Principal Ethan Calvert have moved to a one-to-one system with the Stuart Elementary and Dexter Elementary buildings. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio how she’s feeling going into her second year with the district.

“I’m excited to be in one location so that I can be more hands on with students and staff here at Stuart Elementary and help them with anything that should come up during the day.”

Guthrie Center Elementary Principal Tandem Eischeid says that he has been in the building over the summer meeting with faculty, and that he’s looking forward to having the students in the building.

“I’ve met a lot of great staff members. I met a lot through the interview process too, but as they trickle in and get their classrooms ready to roll, I got to know them, and every one of them has been welcoming, and it just makes me more excited for the school year.”

Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center, Panorama and West Central Valley all have their first full day today, then there’s a four day week next week for AC/GC and Panorama with the first full week of the year for West Central Valley.
