The Adel City Council will meet in regular session on Monday.

The council is reviewing one item on the agenda pertaining to a request for a quote on the engineering services for the Rapids Street Reconstruction project. Adel Mayor Jim Peters shares that the street was paved and bricked back in 1916 and are now having conversations to create a budget to put the finishing touches on the road. 

He explains that the project will be done over time costing a large amount of money and will redo water lines, remove some lead, and install new sewer lines. Peters admits that once the project does get going, it will cause some inconvenience to residents.

The meeting on Monday will be held at Adel City Hall, 301 S. 10th Street, starting at 6pm. The meeting is open to the public.
