
A Ralston man died in a single vehicle crash and another driver was arrested in an ongoing investigation.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, at 11:12pm on Sunday, the sheriff’s office, Scranton Fire Department and Greene County Ambulance responded to the scene at 210th Street and E Avenue. The sheriff’s office reports that 29-year-old Matthew Hopkins of Ralston was traveling east on 210th Street in a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 truck. He failed to negotiate a curve, rolled the vehicle, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, the sheriff’s office found out that 33-year-old Travis Smith of Ralston allegedly was following Hopkins and left the scene. Smith was later arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for his third OWI and an aggravated misdemeanor for driving while barred. The incident remains under investigation with the sheriff’s office.
