Week 1 of the high school football season is upon us.  Perry will make the trip to Des Moines later this week for their opening game.  The Bluejays will meet the Huskies at Mediacom Stadium.  The stadium is located on the campus of Drake University and it opened just last year.  The Drake Bulldogs and numerous of the Des Moines public schools play home contests there.  This Thursday it will open up the high school football season.  Perry and Des Moines Hoover will play the only game in the entire state to open the year.  The Bluejays went 2-7 last year.  One of their wins was a 33-18 victory over the Huskies.  Hoover went 0-9 last year.  They are currently on a 15 game losing streak dating back to 2022.  The Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network and KDLS will have the broadcast Thursday evening.  The coverage will begin at 7P with the Perry Hy-Vee Pregame Show.
