The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board met in regular session on Monday.

During the open forum, Adel Mayor Jim Peters highlighted that the new Victory Bell that’s being built in Adel is scheduled to be completed by March 2025. Items on the agenda that were approved by the board include a quote for $61,465 to ATech Security for a door alarm security, a bond counsel with Ahlers & Cooney for $15,000,000, and a resolution for the 2024 series bond for $15,000,000 towards the new ADM High School building.

Additional items approved on the agenda was a request for modified supplemental aid for negative special balance in the amount of $453,291.53, an agreement for services and special education contracts with Des Moines Area Community College and ADM Schools, and a vehicle purchase agreement to Ryder Truck Sales for $28,515 to replace the current box truck. ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe commented that the start of school has been tremendous for the ADM School District, especially with the soft start beginning on Friday for the first day.
